What I'm Reading: Something Wicked by Catherine Mulvaney

I picked up Something Wicked as soon as it came out.  I really enjoyed Catherine Mulvaney’s Run No More, and was looking forward to more from this author.  This new book didn’t disappoint me.  It was a very fast read for me.  I finished it practically in one night, and didn’t only because I had to get up early in the morning.

Something Wicked is a paranormal romance with a vampire theme.  It’s interesting how authors each take a different slant on vampires.  One of the most unique vampire series is Christine Feehan’s Dark series that I have written about before on this site.  In Something Wicked, Nash, the hero, sees being a vampire as a curse, and he’s looking for a way to cure himself.  Regan is a journalist looking for a story, but finds herself a target of vampire revenge.

The plot takes some interesting twists, but for me, it is the author’s writing style and character development that makes the story so appealing. I was only a little disappointed in the ending.  It seemed to be wrapped up very quickly and at least one aspect of the story could have been tied into the ending a little better, but overall the story was fast-paced and interesting.

I’ll definitely be checking out Catherine Mulvaney’s next book.
